Simple Guitar Cake

After today, I truly believe that this cake will do for almost any party. It was definitely a talking point. One great thing about the bass/guitar cake is the patterns on the body are unlimited. I googled  bass/guitars, and the options were endless. This cake is covered in buttercream, with fondant decorations.

Plain Delicious

The plain lemon pound cake has finally arrived!! My friend Stephon had only one request all summer long....a plain lemon pound cake with no icing, no decorations, no powdered sugar, no anything. It sure looks bare, but it is a delicious cake. In fact, he will have it one day before fall begins (he he he).

Tennessee Cake

I really do not follow college football, but I do like to watch a great game. So, this Saturday in Tennessee the University of Tennessee and the University of Florida are taking the field, and they are HUGE rivals. I know devout fans on both sides. This cake was sent into Gator territory.... I am not sure if Rick came out alive. This cake has an orange and white checkerboard surprise on the inside. The T is made from color flow.

Pizza Cake

Looks like lunch is served...or is it??

It is pizza cake!! This cake was made for my friend Karen. It is a chocolate fudge cake with buttercream icing tinted red. The olives and ham slices are made out of fondant. The pepperoni, yellow and green peppers are cut from Fruit Roll-ups. The mushrooms are made of chocolate, and the ground meat is toffee bits dipped in chocolate. Oh, I almost forgot, the cheese is grated white chocolate. I actually had to stick the entire cake under the broiler (yes, in the oven) to just barely melt the toppings, so they would not roll off the cake.

Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate Cake

I do not know what it is about rainy overcast days that makes me want to stay inside, watch movies, and eat chocolate. Unfortunately, I had to trudge across town and work for the better part of the day.  But when I arrived home the kitchen was all mine. For now, I think I have snacked on enough chocolate pieces to last until tomorrow when I can share this with my coworkers....only time will tell :o)

Designer Jean Cake

The neighborhood girls were getting together to add some zip and sparkle to their old jeans. I decided to stop by with a unique pair of my own. My jeans were a hit, and tasted great as well. The flowers and belt were made out of fondant, and the cake was iced in butter cream.

Spaghetti Cake

I am not one to pull off a good practical joke, but this time I did. I invited some good friends over for  spaghetti casserole. When the guests arrived, the house was filled with the marvelous aroma of fine pasta! Instead of serving the main course, the guests received dessert first...smiles...red velvet cake with cream cheese noodles, and those chocolate balls that come in the gold foil with a light raspberry sauce.

Converse Shoe Cake

Tomorrow, I am going to visit my nieces and what would this world be coming to if I did not bring a cake. I think they will be most impressed with the red velvet cake. "Aunt Michelle, that sure does not taste like cherry", I can only imagine :o). The cake is covered in butter cream with fondant trimmings. By tomorrow, I will have a sweet message in the corner.
